Isabel Parreno Arce, Marquesa de Llano,

Marquesa de Lliano shown here as a maja - a sort of Spanish gypsy.

  1. I found your lovely new blog via Georgiana's site. I do like this portrait of the black and white maja, although I'm not sure about the soft angled hat AND the bejeweled snood. The mask is fun. Do you remember Maja perfumes? I discovered them years ago. At the time was too poor to buy the perfume, but happily splurged (a very small splurge) on the soap, which had such a lovely scent. And gorgeous packaging. Looking forward to more of your shared images. Katherine Louise

  2. Thank you for your comments, Katherine. IMHO, the best thing about this portrait is her mischievous smile. Don't you think she's going to do something very naughty at the carnival? I've looked up Maja perfume, and it's lovely. I'm going to try and get my hands on a bottle as soon as I can.
