A Lady's Hairstyles Through the Ages

Such a beautiful video and such a clever artistic project. While the "looks" do not seem to be always historically authentic, that hardly matters. It feels that the project is more about our perception of the past rather than true historical facts. Not to mention that at any given time there are a variety of hairstyles and to show them all would require a lot more than 4 minutes.

What strikes me as interesting is that what this video excludes tells more about our society than what it shows. Many a worthy maid is conspicuous by her absence.       

A Lady’s First Entry....

Welcome, gentle reader, to Mrs.Bertin’s Jewelry Box, the home of pretty trinkets and witty thoughts.

On the pages of this lady’s journal I will touch upon such frivolous subjects as dress, art, history, literature and anything else that strikes my fancy. And while I may fail to educate or enlighten, I will, at least,always endeavor to amuse.

I will, at first, proceed with caution and timidity in this literary venture, as becomes a lady of quality. But once sufficiently embolden by experience and your approbation, I will not hesitate to dedicated many hours to my little journal.
